ModBook Unveiled
Axiotron and Other World Computing have revealed their mysterious ModBook, showing off an impressive twist on the stock MacBooks from Apple. Here’s the word from the companies:
MacWorld Expo, San Francisco, CA January 10, 2007 — Axiotron, Inc. together with its exclusive US Distributor Other World Computing (OWC) today unveiled the ModBook™, the first ever Mac OS® X tablet computer solution on OWC’s MacWorld Expo booth #S2218. The Axiotron™ ModBook™ is essentially an after-market hardware modification kit for Apple® MacBook™ notebook computers, adding true pen input, a new 13.3″ wide screen LCD and an optional Global Positioning System, behind chemically strengthened glass covers in a tough, satin chrome plated magnesium top shell.Keeping all the powerful features of the MacBook base system such as the award winning Mac OS™ X with its build-in Inkwell handwriting recognition, up to 2GHz fast Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the integrated iSight™ camera and the CD/DVD combo drive, the slate-style Axiotron ModBook is the ultimate companion for applications and situations where a keyboard only gets in the way.
You can pre-reserve a ModBook now, with prices ranging from $2200 and $2700.
