News and notes

The maieutic Jason D. O’Grady has a poll up asking whether you’ll be buying an iPhone and under what circumstances. As of this writing, at least 500 people will be camping out, so at least the iPhone will outsell the Pippin.

Tuesday marks ten years back at the helm of Apple for Steve Jobs, and there’s a very nice writeup to commemorate the event over at Ars Technica. Nokia’s CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo has commented on the iPhone, saying it “will stimulate this market, it’s very clear,” he said. “The fact that we will see multipurpose devices from many manufacturers, I think it will be good for the industry. And in that way, I very much welcome (Apple to the market).”
