The tech blog at Guardian Unlimited has reviewed the Blackberry Pearl, and in what will probably be the beginning of a trend among smartphone reviews, keeps one eye on the iPhone while assessing the Pearl.

The Pearl gets high marks for meeting both consumer and light business user needs, size and design, and features such as its camera, multimedia support, and quadband connectivity, but the reviewers found the keyboard less than ideal for composing email and small form factor also means a small screen for reading email.
