News and notes
PC Advisor has a couple of interesting new articles. First up is a report from the 3GSM gathering in Barcelona, where Nancy Gohring gives a nice tour of iPhone rivals from Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, and Neonode. Her conclusion? The other companies haven’t had time to respond, and it shows in their underwhelming offerings.
The second article from the site is a lengthy iPhone FAQ. If you’ve had some burning questions about the device, it’s worth a look.
Computerworld also has some iPhone fare with its article on why the iPhone will change the PC world. More than hardware or convergence, the articles cites the iPhone UI as a harbinger of things to come in third-generation user interfaces with multi-touch, gestures, physics, 3-D and icon minimization.
Finally, MacNN has a review of Gecko Gear’s Gecko Pro-sleeve13. The ballistic nylon sleeve for the MacBook or MacBook Pro gets a nod for its scratch protection, but the reviewer found the internal protection limited and didn’t like the exposed zipper on the inside.
