News and notes

If you need something funny to help with your case of the Mondays, this Wired blog post might just be the cure for what ails you. The topic of the entry is how to turn two half-broken iBooks into two completely-broken iBooks, and this is really a skill you can never know too much about.

ZDNet has another interesting story, this time about a MacBook owner that sent in his computer with a battery and screen issue, only to have it returned with a hard drive full of someone else’s data. Though the story there doesn’t say it, word is that Apple did eventually get around to doing the right thing and helping to make sure everyone got their proper hard drives back.

Lastly, Macworld’s new blog for mobile Macs has a nice look at some card readers for laptop owners, with an emphasis on ExpressCard/34 readers.
