Stolen MacBook sends photos home
A crazy story has been unfolding in recent days, with a MacBook stolen from a London shop posting photos to the shop’s Flickr gallery weeks after the theft. Apparently the MacBook was setup to automatically upload PhotoBooth pictures (presumably using something like FlickrBooth) to the shop’s Flickr account, and now the faces of the thieves (or the purchasers of the stolen notebook) have been put online. Who knew it would turn into such a good security system? Here are the details of the theft.
Two computers were stolen from the Topshop London Fashion Week, Covent Garden Venue, London, UK, during 11th to 13th February 2007. These computers were set up to automatically upload photos to the Topshop London Fashion Week Website via the Topshop Flickr Account. About a month after the theft new photos appeared on our flickr account and london fashion week website.
