Mac users ignored by Verizon?
EVDOinfo.com has some disappointing news on Mac users subscribed to Verizon for EVDO service to their Apple portable. Certain EVDO devices used for connecting to Verizon require firmware updates before July 15, 2007, or else they will stop functioning with Verizon. Some Mac users are apparently already good to go, as the Verizon support page says:
Please note that PC cards with VZAccess Manager Software for Mac OSX were shipped with the upgraded firmware. If you have an older device that requires a firmware upgrade, please update using Windows (2000 or higher) by following the instructions above.
For other Mac users, the only option is to use a PC running Windows 2000 or higher to do the update.
