iPhone’s Achilles’ heel: too slippery?

Just when you thought you’d heard every possible complaint about the iPhone (and just imagine what we’ll see when it’s actually out!), there’s a new one: the iPhone is apparently too slippery. The reporter himself offers an account saying that it’s no worse than an iPod, but also says that those with more iPhone hands-on time have said it’s like grabbing a bar of soap.

While the cynics will suggest Apple is making the iPhone slippery as an opportunity for third parties to sell sleeves, skins, cases, and more–while simultaneously reaping the benefit of people replacing dropped iPhones–we’re a little more optimistic. Pre-production units could be significantly different from the final version, and this could simply be a case of a few lotion-happy testers having some difficulties. If the slippery iPhone comes to pass, though, the Apple iRosin Bag will be available at your local Apple Store for $49.99.
