Magma, long famous for their PCI breakout boxes, has added to the growing library of ExpressCard/34 accessories with a new product called the ExpressBox 1. Connect the ExpressBox 1’s ExpressCard to your MacBook Pro, then use the included cable to connect to the ExpressBox 1 chassis, and you can use a PCI Express card with your MacBook Pro, useful for adding things such as a graphics card. The product comes in two incarnations, one for half-length PCIe cards, and one which can handle half-length and full-length PCIe cards. The two models come in at $729 and $749, so they aren’t cheap, but for those who need some added capabilities with their MacBook Pros, this is the only way to fly.
