New phone plan accompanies iPhone release
Alongside the iPhone–and the inevitable myriad accessories that will accompany it–will be a reinvented phone plan from AT&T. The so-called Unity plan, which has flopped due to costumer and sales rep confusion (that’s what the official word is, at least, though many say it was just poor value), allowed for AT&T customers with an unlimited local and long-distance plan on their home phone and a plan of $59.95 or more on their cell phone to call other AT&T customers for free.
AT&T wants to take advantage of the iPhone launch filling their stores with people interested in picking up an iPhone and/or switching to AT&T with high-end needs. Details of the new Unity plan are still unknown.

There’s a reason why AT&T hasn’t announced the plan/s for the iPhone yet. Because that’s where they are going to shaft the consumer. The plans will limit adoption of the iPhone much more than the initial cost of the phone. That’s what the analyst’s should be concerned about w.r.t. iPhone adoption….
