ZAP, makes of electric vehicles, batteries, and all things electric, have issued a press release on their iZAP iPod battery, discussing its iPhone compatibility. We’ve all heard that many iPod accessories work just fine with the iPhone, but when it comes to external batteries, many people were taking a wait-and-see approach, but ZAP has given the all clear. The iZAP is essentially an external battery that forms a cradle to plug into an iPod or iPhone’s dock connector, adding some thickness to your iPhone or iPod, but offering up to three times the battery life. The iZAP can also charge your iPhone battery more quickly than conventional charging, apparently.

The iZAP is available for $79, and seems like a worthy investment for those of you doing a lot of traveling.
