iPhone software 1.0.1 released

No, it doesn’t offer any amazing new features or anything incredibly great, but nothing wrong with patching some security holes and making a few changes. Among the rumored tweaks are greater earpiece volume–which has been a complaint–and improves Safari stability.

Future iPhone widgets hinted at

iPhoneology has an interesting note on some findings in the iPhone preference files, with some potential future widgets being hinted at in the files. Among the widgets mentioned in the files–but not yet found in action on the iPhone–are Unit Converter, Translation, World Clock, and Phonebook. Some interesting possibilities here.
